Of all the secrets, some are basic. They're desire, determination, persistence, patience, enthusiasm, will power, discipline, honesty, integrity, punctuality, courage, and hard work. Let's see how they lead us to success.

1. Desire

Desire determines progress. If you've desire, you'll progress. If you don't have desire, you won't progress. If you want success, you've to develop a desire. A weak desire produces poor result. A strong desire produces good result. A stronger desire will produce better result. Your achieving success depends on the intensity of your desire. All the great personalities the world has seen had a strong and burning desire to do great things in their lives. Shiv Khera says, "A burning desire is the starting point of all accomplishment. Just as a small fire can't give much heat, a weak desire can't produce great results." When you're very thirsty, the first and foremost thing you want to do is drink a glass of water. When you're very hungry, the first thing you look for is food. Let's see if we can make these statements the other way round. To drink a glass of water, you've to be thirsty.
To eat a piece of meal, you've to feel hungry. To achieve success, you've to develop a strong desire to succeed. If you don't have a strong desire to succeed, you won't look for success. That's as simple as that.

You may ask how 'desire' is so important a secret to success. Here's a story that'll answer your question. Once, a young guy went to Socrates. He asked Socrates to teach him the most important secret to success. Socrates agreed. He told the young guy to go with him into a river. The young guy agreed. Both of them went into the deeper area of the river. The river water covered them up to the neck. All of a sudden, Socrates caught hold of the young guy's neck. He immersed the young guy's head into the water with all his might. The young guy struggled hard to escape from Socrates' firm hold but failed. He got suffocated long enough to turn blue. Socrates then pulled his head out of water. The young guy gasped. He took in a deep breath. Socrates asked him, "What did you want the most when you were under water?" To that the young guy replied, "Air." Socrates looked into the eyes of the young guy and said, "That's the secret to success. When you want success as intensely as you wanted air under water, then you'll have it." Napoleon Hills says, "The beginning of every great success is desire."

2. Determination

The determination should be a firm determination. Only then, it'll take us to our goal. You may have a strong desire to succeed. But if you aren't determined to succeed, you won't succeed. Desire and determination should go hand in hand.

Thomas Alva Edison failed more than 10,000 times before he invented his electric bulb. He was determined to invent the bulb. He was determined to put efforts. He was determined to go up to end. Ten thousand failures were nothing to him. When ten thousand failures were nothing to Thomas Alva Edison, why should we be ashamed of our first, second or third failure?

Beethoven was told that he had no talent for music. Did he give up hope? Never! He was determined to learn music. He was determined to put efforts. He was determined to go up to the end. The result? He gave the world some of the best pieces of music....... ......... ......... ."

THE SECRET OF SUCCESS

There was once a boy who wanted to seek the secret of
success. One day he approached a wise man living up in
the mountain. When he found the wise man at the hut, he
asked, “Wise man, can you tell me the secret to becoming
successful in life?” The wise man was silent for a
while. After a moment of silence, the wise man led the
young lad to a nearby river. They kept walking into the
river until the boy’s head was fully submerged in the
water. The boy struggled to keep his head above the
water. To his astonishment, the wise man did not help
him. Instead, the wise man held the boy’s head in the
water. For
many months he had admired a beautiful sports car in a dealer's
showroom, and knowing his father could well afford it, he told
him that was all he wanted.

As Graduation Day approached, the young man awaited
signs that his father had purchased the car. Finally, on the
morning of his graduation his father called him into his private
study. His father told him how proud he was to have such a fine
son, and told him how much he loved him. He handed his son
a beautiful wrapped gift box.

Curious, but somewhat disappointed the young man
opened the box and found a lovely, leather-bound Bible. Angrily,
he raised his voice at his father and said, "With all your money you
give me a Bible?" and stormed out of the house, leaving the holy
book.

Many years passed and the young man was very successful in
business.
He had a beautiful home and wonderful family, but realized his
father was very old, and thought perhaps he should go to him. He
had not seen him since that graduation day. Before he could make
arrangements, he received a telegram telling him his father had
passed away, and willed all of his possessions to his son. He
needed to come home immediately and take care things.
When he arrived at his father's house, sudden sadness and
regret filled his heart.

He began to search his father's important papers and
saw the still new Bible, just as he had left it years ago. With
tears, he opened the Bible and began to turn the pages. As he
read those words, a car key dropped from an envelope
taped behind the Bible.
It had a tag with the dealer's name, the same dealer who had the
sports car he had desired. On the tag was the date of his graduation,
and the words...PAID IN FULL.

How many times do we miss God's blessings because they are not
packaged as we expected?

Put them in your saddle bags. Travel a day's journey. Tomorrow night you will be both glad and sad."

Afterwards, the nomads shared their disappointment and anger with each other.

They had expected the revelation of a great universal truth that would enable them to create wealth, health and purpose for the world. But instead they were given a menial task that made no sense to them at all.

However, the memory of the brilliance of their visitor caused each one to pick up a few pebbles and deposit them in their saddle bags while voicing their displeasure.

They traveled a day's journey. That night, while making camp, they reached into their saddle bags and discovered that the pebbles they had gathered the night before had turned into beautiful and brilliant diamonds!

Indeed, they were both glad and sad, just as the voice had promised.

They were glad they now had beautiful and valuable diamonds. She asked her grandson if he would like a snack, which, ofcourse,he said he would.

"Here, have some cooking oil."- told the Grandma.

"Yuck" said the boy.

"How about a couple of raw eggs?"

"Gross, Grandma!"

"Would you like some flour then? Or maybe baking soda?"

"Grandma, those are all yucky!"

Grandma replied: "Yes, all those things seem bad all by themselves. But when they are put together in the right way, they make a wonderfully delicious cake!"!!!

God works the same way.Sometimes, don't we wonder "What did I do to deserve this", or "Why did God have to do this to me".

Many times we wonder why HE would let us go through such bad and difficult times.

But God knows that when HE puts these things all in
HIS order, they always work for the good!

We just have to trust HIM and, eventually, they will all make something wonderful!

God loves us so much. HE sends us flowers every spring and a sunrise every morning.

Whenever we want to talk, HE listens.
HE can live anywhere in the universe, but HE chose our hearts.
So BELIEVE COMPLETELY that HE loves us and whatever is
happening is only the process of baking a cake......to
finally make it into a delicious cake and just like
beating gold to make a beautiful ornament out of it.

So next time, you face any hiccups, instead of
complaining, think of the entire picture and view life
as a whole and reflect on why such an experience was
given to you and what is to be learnt from it for your
own personal evolution and keep moving on with life...

Life as a whole is just like this piece of cake - REAL
BEAUTIFUL!

Effort and Knowledge

Ever heard the story of the giant ship engine that failed? The ship's owners tried one expert after another, but none of them could figure but how to fix the engine.

Then they brought in an old man who had been fixing ships since he was a youngster.

He carried a large bag of tools with him, and when he arrived, he immediately went to work. He inspected the engine very carefully, top to bottom.

Two of the ship's owners were there, watching this man, hoping he would know what to do. So he proposed a bargain.

He said he would forgo the farmer's debt if he could marry his Daughter. Both the farmer and his daughter were horrified by the Proposal.

So the cunning money-lender suggested that they let Providence decide the matter.

He told them that he would put a black Pebble and a white pebble into an empty money bag. Then the girl would Have to pick one pebble from the bag.

1) If she picked the black pebble, she would become his wife and her father's debt would be forgiven.

2) If she picked the white pebble she need not marry him and her father's debt would still be forgiven.

3) But if she refused to pick a pebble, her father would be thrown into Jail.

They were standing on a pebble strewn path in the farmer's field. As they talked, the moneylender bent over to pick up two pebbles. As he picked them up, the sharp-eyed girl noticed that he had picked up two Black pebbles and put them into the bag.

He then asked the girl to pick a pebble from the bag.

Now, imagine that you were standing in the field. What would you have done if you were the girl? If you had to advise her, what would you have told her?

Careful analysis would produce three possibilities:

1. The girl should refuse to take a pebble.

2. The girl should show that there were two black pebbles in the bag and expose the money-lender as a cheat.

3. The girl should pick a black pebble and sacrifice herself in order To save her father from his debt and imprisonment.

Take a moment to ponder over the story. The above story is used with the hope that it will make us appreciate the difference between lateral and logical thinking.

The girl's dilemma cannot be solved with Traditional logical thinking. Think of the consequences if she chooses

The above logical answers.

What would you recommend the Girl to do?

Well, here is what she did ....

The girl put her hand into the moneybag and drew out a pebble. Without Looking at it, she fumbled and let it fall onto the pebble-strewn path where it immediately became lost among all the other pebbles.

"Oh, how clumsy of me," she said. "But never mind, if you look into the Bag for the one that is left, you will be able to tell which pebble I Picked."

Since the remaining pebble is black, it must be assumed that she had Picked the white one. And since the money-lender dared not admit his Dishonesty, the girl changed what seemed an impossible situation into An extremely advantageous one.

Most complex problems do have a solution. It is only that we don't Attempt to think.

Very Intresting Incident

One day all the employees reached the office and they saw a big advice on the door on which it was written:
"Yesterday the person who has been hindering your growth in this company passed away. We invite you to join the funeral in the room that has been prepared in the gym".

In the beginning, they all got sad for the death of one of their colleagues, but after a while they started getting curious to know who was that man who hindered the growth of his colleagues and the company itself.

The excitement in the gym was such that security agents were ordered to control the crowd within the room.

The more people reached the coffin, the more the excitement heated up.

Everyone thought: "Who is this guy who was hindering my progress? At a very early age their father had expired and as there was no other source of income she went from houses to houses in the locality working there as a maid for washing clothes and utensils. After working she was able to feed her children .
She brought them up and fulfilled all their requirement whatever they need .. This was the best a mother can do for her children... But now time has changed both her sons have grown up and are working in big companies .....both are married...and both have their independent houses... after hearing this the boy asked when ur childrens are working and have independent houses then why are u crying...u should be happy......
She smile and said " Son now time has changed ...changed in that sense that for 15 days in a month my elder son feeds me with food and for the next 15 days my younger son feeds me with food"......." but when the month is of 31 days i have to keep a fast coz neither my elder son nor my younger son feeds me......and on that 31st day of the month i keep a fast for both my son's that they may grow more and more and be happy with their family......and it was the 31st day of the month when the boy met the old lady..

Moral....we should never forget our parents no matter at what position we are.....never ever leave ur parents in this situation...

The Law of the Garbage Truck

One day I hopped in a taxi and we took off for the airport. We were driving in the right lane when suddenly a black car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us. My taxi driver slammed on his breaks, skidded, and missed the other car by just inches! The driver of the other car whipped his head around and started yelling at us. My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. And I mean, he was really friendly.
So I asked, "Why did you just do that? This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital!" This is when my taxi driver taught me what I now call, "The Law of the Garbage Truck."
He explained that many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment. As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it and sometimes they'll dump it on you. Don't take it personally. Just smile, wave, wish them well, and move on. Don't take their garbage and spread it to other people at work, at home, or on the streets.

The bottom line is that successful people do not let garbage trucks take over their day. Life's too short to wake up in the morning with regrets, so..... "Love the people who treat you right. Pray for the ones who don't."

Funny Story

Here is something I got in email. Am sharing it with you...
---
Two elderly people living in Trailer Estates, he was a Widower and she a widow, they had known each other for a number of years. One evening there was a community supper in the big activity center. The two were at the same table, across from one another as the meal went on, he took a few admiring glances at her and finally gathered the courage to ask her, " Will you marry me?"After about six seconds of ' careful consideration' , she answered "Yes. Yes, I will. "The meal ended and, with a few more pleasant exchanges, they went to Their respective places.Next morning, he was troubled. "Did she say 'yes' or did she say 'no'?" He couldn't remember. Try as he might, he just Could not recall. Not even a faint memory. With trepidation, he went to the telephone and called her.First, he explained that he didn't remember as well as he used to. Then he reviewed the lovely evening past. As he gained a little more courage, he inquired, "When I asked if you would marry me, did you say 'Yes' or did you say 'No'?"He was delighted to hear her say, "Why, I said, 'Yes, yes I will' and I Meant it with all my heart. The Thirty year old son , filled with joy " see dad, how beautiful the rain is .."

Anup's wife got irritated with the rain drops spoiling her new suit.

Anup ," cant you see its raining, you old man, if ur son is not feeling well get him soon to a mental asylum.. and dont disturb public henceforth"

The old man hesitated first and then in a low tone replied " we are on the way back from hospital, my son got discharged today morning , he was a blind by birth, last week only he got his vision, these rain and nature are new to his eyes.. Please forgive us for the inconvenience caused..."

The things we see may be right from our perspective until we know the truth. But when we know the truth our reaction to that will hurt even us. So try to understand the problem better before taking a harsh action.

JUST BE WHAT YOU ARE!!

A well-known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a Rupee 500
note.

In the room of 200, he asked, "Who would like this Rupee 500 note?"

Hands started going up.

He said, "I am going to give this note to one of you
but first let me do this.
" He proceeded to crumple the note up.
He then asked, "Who still wants it?"

Still the hands were up in the air.

"Well," he replied,
"What if I do this?" 'Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn't exist.
Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick people?
Would there be abandoned children?
If God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain.
I can't imagine a loving God who would allow all of these things.'
The customer thought for a moment, but didn't respond because he didn't want to start an argument.
The barber finished his job and the customer left the shop.
Just after he left the barbershop, he saw a man in the street with long, stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard.
He looked dirty and unkempt. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls.
He then asked the students again if the jar was full.
They agreed it was.
The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar.
Of course, the sand filled up everything else.
He asked once more if the jar was full.
The students responded with an unanimous "yes."
The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand.
The students laughed.
"Now," said the professor, as the laughter subsided, "I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life.
"The golf balls are the important things - your God, family, your children, your health, your friends, and your favorite passions - things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.
"The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house, and your car.
"The sand is everything else--the small stuff.
"If you put the sand into the jar first," he continued, "there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls.
"The same goes for life. "If you spend all your time and energy on the small
stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you.
"Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness.
"Play with your children"
"Take time to get medical checkups".
"Take your partner out to dinner".
"Play another 18".

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://koushik4445.blogspot.com/2009/06/motivation-story-pl-must-read.html' title='MOTIVATION STORY-PL. The restaurant owner was shocked and asked the man where
he could get so many frog legs! The farmer replied, "There is a pond near my house that is full of frogs--millions of them. They croak all during the night and are about to drive me crazy!"

So the restaurant owner and the farmer made an agreement that the farmer would deliver frogs to the restaurant five hundred at a time for the next several
weeks. The farmer said, "I was mistaken.

There were only these two frogs in the pond. But they sure were making a lot of noise!" And Believe In It.

Normally our dreams are lost in the thousands of thoughts that pass through our mind everyday. Creating a Dream-Map, makes your goals clear to your mind and your belief in the same puts your being in action for achieving it.

Your Dream-Map is your list of top 5 dreams (or less, or more) that you want to achieve over the next few months or years. You do not have to put in too many details; however do try to be as specific as possible. Put up your Dream-Map at a place where you can see it from time to time. It is natural for some items on the list to change with time. However, it would be a challenge to achieve anything if you find yourself changing your Dream-Map frequently.

The Dream-Map would provide focus to your mind. As long as you regularly review the Dream-Map, this would happen without any conscious efforts. Similarly, if you strongly believe in your dreams, then your each decision and each move would be favorable to achieving your dreams. This is because decisions are always based on gut feel, which, in turn, is strongly influenced by what you believe.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://koushik4445.blogspot.com/2008/05/make-your-dream-map-and-believe-in-it.html' title='Make Your Dream-Map. They are waiting for a favourable situation where winning is guaranteed or highly probable. They do a lot of planning and analysis to determine their odds for winning the race. Some "ready-to-be" entrepreneurs have not yet launched their venture because they are waiting for an idea which is a sure winner. Most of us prefer taking "calculated risks", i.e. risks where the risk of risk is very low. Your chances of winning are almost certain if and only if you are running alone. I wonder if you would enjoy winning such a race.

To win a race you need to participate in the race. Participation puts you at risk of losing, but it also provides you the possibility of outrunning others and winning. If you do not participate, you cannot win. So take risk; be open to losing; and jump into the race. Losing is fine, at least you participated.

Acknowledge Your Present..............................!!! Very often we are so focussed on future that we lose sight of gifts in our present.

It is important to design our future and move towards it. However, this should not be at the cost of being ignorant of our present. It is more important to be aware of our present and be conscious of the gifts that we already have. Failure to acknowledge your present would mean a life full of frustrations, simply because you step into your future only when it becomes present.

The story below illustrates this beautifully. I came across this story multiple times on the internet. The author is unknown.

A boat docked in a tiny Mexican village. An American tourist complimented the Mexican fisherman on the quality of his fish and asked how long it took him to catch them.
"Not very long," answered the Mexican.
"But then, why didn't you stay out longer and catch more?" asked the American.
The Mexican explained that his small catch was sufficient to meet his needs and those of his family.
The American asked, "But what do you do with the rest of your time?"
"I sleep late, fish a little, play with my children, and take a siesta with my wife. In the evenings, I go into the village to see my friends, have a few drinks, play the guitar, and sing a few songs. I have a full life."
The American interrupted, "I have an MBA and I can help you! You should start by fishing longer every day. You can then sell the extra fish you catch. With the extra revenue, you can buy a bigger boat."
"And after that?" asked the Mexican.
"With the extra money the larger boat will bring, you can buy a second one and a third one and so on until you have an entire fleet of trawlers. Instead of selling your fish to a middle man, you can then negotiate directly with the processing plants and maybe even open your own plant. You can then leave this little village and move to Mexico City, Los Angeles, or even New York City! From there you can direct your huge new enterprise."
"How long would that take?" asked the Mexican.
"Twenty, perhaps twenty-five years," replied the American.
"And after that?"
"Afterwards? Well my friend, that's when it gets really interesting," answered the American, laughing. "When your business gets really big, you can start buying and selling stocks and make millions!"
"Millions? Really? And after that?" asked the Mexican.
"After that you'll be able to retire, live in a tiny village near the coast, sleep late, play with your children, catch a few fish, take a siesta with your wife and spend your evenings drinking and enjoying your friends."
The Mexican looked confused, “But... I already live this life”

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://koushik4445.blogspot.com/2008/05/acknowledge-your-present-very-often-we.html' title='Acknowledge Your Present..............................!!! A little boy loved to come and play around it everyday. He climbed to the tree top, ate the apples, took a nap under the shadow... He loved the
tree and the tree loved to play with him.

Time went by... the little boy had grown up and he no longer played
around the tree everyday. One day, the boy came back to the tree and he looked sad. "Come and play with me," the tree asked the
boy. "I am no longer a kid, I don't play around trees anymore." The
boy replied, "I want toys. I need money to buy them." "Sorry, but I
don't have money...but you can pick all my apples and sell them. So, you will have money." The boy was so excited. He grabbed all the apples on the tree and left happily.

The boy never came back after he picked the apples. The tree was sad. One day, the boy returned and the tree was so excited. "Come and play with me" the tree said. "I don't have time to play. I have to work for family. We need a house for shelter. Can you help me?" "Sorry, but I don't have a house. But you can chop off my branches to build your house." So the boy cut all the branches of the tree and left happily.

The tree was glad to see him happy but the boy never came back since then. The tree was again lonely and sad.

One hot summer day, the boy returned and the tree was delighted. "Come and play with me!" the tree said. "I am sad and getting old. I want to go sailing to relax myself. Can you give me a boat?" "Use my truck to build your boat. You can sail far away and be happy." So the boy cut the tree truck to make a boat. He went sailing and never showed up for a long time.

Finally, the boy returned after he left for so many years. "Sorry, my boy. But I don't have anything for you anymore. No more apples for you..." the tree said. "I don't have teeth to bite" the boy replied. "No more truck for you to climb on" "I am too old for that now" the boy said. "I really can't give you anything ... the only thing left is my dying roots" the tree said with tears.

"I don't need much now, just a place to rest. I am tired after all these years." The boy replied. "Good! Old tree roots is the best place to lean on and rest. Come, Come sit down with me and rest."

The boy sat down and the tree was glad and smiled with tears.......

*********************************
This is a story of everyone.
The tree is our parent.
When we were young,we loved to play with Mom and Dad... When we grow up, we left them & only came to them when we need something or when we are in
trouble.
No matter what, parents will always be there and give
everything they could to make you happy.
You may think the boy is cruel to the tree but that's how (almost) all of us are treating our parent.
Love them that is what u can do :)

True love is neither physical, nor romantic. True love is an acceptance of all that is, has been, will be, and will not be.

It was a busy morning, approximately 08:30 am, when an elderly gentleman in his 80's arrived to have stitches removed from his thumb. He stated that he was in a hurry as he had an appointment at 9 am. I took his vital signs and had him take a seat, knowing it would be over an hour before someone would to able to see him. I saw him looking repeatedly at his watch and decided, since I was not busy with another patient, I would evaluate his wound.

On examination, it was well-healed, so I talked to one of the doctors, got the needed supplies to remove his stitches and redressed his wound. While taking care of his wound, we began to engage in conversation. I asked him if he had an important appointment that morning, as he seemed to be in such a hurry.

The gentleman told me no; that he only needed to go to the nursing home to eat breakfast with his wife. I then inquired as to her health. He told me that she had been there for a while already and that she was a victim of Alzheimer Disease.

As we talked, and I finished dressing his wound, I asked if she would be worried if he was a bit late. He replied that she no longer knew who he was; that she had not recognized him for five years now. I was surprised, and asked him. "And you still go every morning, even though she doesn't know who you are?"

He smiled as he patted my hand and said: "She doesn't know me, but I still know who she is."

I had to hold back my tears as he left. I had goose bumps on my arm, and thought: "That is the kind of love I want in my life."

True love is neither physical, nor romantic. Every so often you push your luck.
2. Never underestimate the power of a kind word or deed.
3. Never give up on anybody -- miracles happen every day.
4. Become the most positive and enthusiastic person you know.
5. Learn to listen.
6. Think big thoughts, but relish small pleasures.
7. Don't expect others to listen to your advice or ignore your example.
8. Opportunity sometimes knocks very softly.
9. Leave everything a little better than you found it.
10. Don't forget: a person's emotional need is to feel appreciated.
11. Never waste an opportunity to tell someone you love them.
12. Treat everyone you meet like you want to be treated.
13. Make new friends but cherish the old ones.
14. Don't use time or words carelessly, neither can be retrieved.
15. Judge your success by the degree that you're enjoying peace, health, and love.
16. Smile a lot: it costs nothing and is beyond price.

Wid Luv...~~ KOUSHIK ~~

Our Lives In Money...!!! In the room of 200, he asked, "Who would like this $20 bill?" Hands started going up.

He said, "I am going to give this $20 to one of you but first, let me do this." He proceeded to crumple the $20 dollar bill up. He then asked, "Who still wants it?" Still the hands were up in the air. "Well", he replied, "What if I do this?" And he dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe. He picked it up, now crumpled and dirty. "Now who still wants it?" Still the hands went into the air. "My friends, we have all learned a very valuable lesson", he said, "No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value. It was still worth $20.

Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way. We feel as though we are worthless. But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value. Dirty or clean, crumpled or finely creased, you are still priceless.... and especially to those who love you.

The worth of our lives comes not in what we do or whom we know, but by WHO WE ARE.

"You are special - Don't EVER forget it."

WID LUV>>>>~~~ KOUSHIK ~~~

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://koushik4445.blogspot.com/2008/04/our-lives-in-money-read-it.html' title='Our Lives In Money...!!! Refuse to criticize yourself. Accept yourself exactly as you are. Everybody changes. When you criticize yourself, your changes are negative. When you approve of yourself, your changes are positive.

Don't Scare Yourself - Stop terrorizing yourself with your thoughts. It's a dreadful way to live. Find a mental image that gives you pleasure (mine is yellow roses), and immediately switch your scary thought to a pleasure thought.

Be Gentle And Kind And Patient - Be gentle with yourself. Be kind to yourself. Be patient with yourself as you learn the new ways of thinking. Treat yourself as you would someone you really loved.

Be Kind To Your Mind - Self hatred is only hating your own thoughts. Don't hate yourself for having the thoughts. Gently change your thoughts.

Praise Yourself - Criticism breaks down the inner spirit. Praise builds it up. Praise yourself as much as you can. Tell yourself how well you are doing with every little thing.

Support Yourself - Find ways to support yourself. Reach out to friends and allow them to help you. It is being strong to ask for help when you need it.

Be Loving To Your Negatives - Acknowledge that you created them to fulfill a need. Now, you are finding new, positive ways to fulfill those needs. So, lovingly release the old negative patterns.

Take Care Of Your Body - Learn about nutrition. What kind of fuel does your body need to have optimum energy and vitality? Learn about exercise. What kind of exercise can you enjoy? Cherish and revere the temple you live in.

Mirror Work - Look into your eyes often. Express this growing sense of love you have for yourself. Forgive yourself looking into the mirror. Talk to your parents looking into the mirror. Forgive them too. At least once a day say: "I love you, I really love you."

Love Yourself .. Do It Now - Don't wait until you get well, or lose the weight, or get the new job, or the new relationship. Throughout the day do you find yourself feeling down in the dumps?

Everything depends on the way feel inside. How you react to outside influences affects your mood, if your reaction is negative, you will feel unhappy. If on the other hand you react in a positive way then all will be right for you.

So what can you do to become happy? It's important to try and keep a positive frame of mind. Not easy when everything seems to be against you? I know.

The important thing is that you need to feel good about yourself. How can you do this? By doing something you love!

That's got to make you happy! Do you enjoy walking? Then off you go! Don't stop to see what the weather's like. If it's cold wrap up warm. If it's raining take an umbrella - my mother always said "a drop of rain never hurt anyone". It's refreshing walking in the rain, give it a try. If its hot, well then lucky you, enjoy the sunshine.

So you see, pursuit of happiness can bring you lots of new friends!

Of course you may not want to go walking. Maybe swimming? No? Well try whatever it is that makes you feel good about yourself because this is what being happy is all about.

Are there things in your life that you have wanted to do but haven't? Why not decide to do whatever it is. Happiness will come once you feel good about yourself.

If you can stay calm and accept what happens around you in your life and try not to get tensed up you will find that you are able to cope more and so will feel happy.
Why not try to do one good thing a day to make someone else happy?

Do you work? Is there someone you don't particularly get on well with? Why not smile brightly at him/her and say hello. Then watch the reaction! I do know you will feel really good about yourself for having done this.

Who knows you might end up with a new friend!!!!!!
Try smiling at people you don't know. You will see some wonderful smiles in return. These will encourage you to smile more and more and feel happier throughout your day. Your attitude has a great deal to do with your happiness. You have the power to change the way you are if you want to.

Try to accept people for who or what they are. Avoid arguments. Don't hold on to resentments, this will only add to bitterness within you. Try to see the other persons point of view. If you can't, then accept that they are entitled to their opinion. Don't try to change their thoughts. Be determined to stay positive and not get stressed because they don't feel the same way as you - stay happy!

Think about things you have in your life that you are thankful for.

Make a point of thanking people you come into contact with. The shop assistant who helped you pack your groceries. The person who opened the door for you. In fact any one who does a good deed for you, no matter how small. A cheery thank you will make their day and will definitely help to make you feel happy within yourself.

It's quite easy to be happy. Just decide that's the way to be. It really is your choice.

Wid luv.....~ KOUSHIK ~

Is it time for a change?

Change
*******

Is it time for a change? Does the thought of change frighten you?
Change can be scary right ? Fear of change is a barrier..

Have you been thinking for quite a while that you would like to change?
Are you afraid of failure?
What makes you think you will fail?
**** How can you know unless you try? ***

Why not try to look on what you are doing as a challenge, rather than trying to overcome a problem?
The sense of achievement you will feel when you are successful makes it all worthwhile.

So what do you think? Will you give it a try????
** It is within your power to start your inner personal growth.**

**** To change you have to alter not only your behavior but your thoughts and feelings.
It is important to change your thoughts from negative to positive and start to feel optimistic and happy about yourself. ****

You have to have determination to alter your inner self.
You may find the decision to change brings you regret. This can make things difficult for you. If your decision is the right one, make it and move on with your life.

You make all kinds of decisions every day without being aware. What to wear, what to eat, what to do.
These decisions are often easy because they aren't of vital importance to you. It might be that you are always late for work, and all that needs to be done is to try to leave home earlier.

Working on the inner self is a greater challenge. This is because your feelings are now involved in the outcome. Try to put these to one side while you decide what it is that you want to do and how you intend to do it.

*** Changing your thoughts and feelings is where the challenge lies. ***

To change how you are is not simple. Stay determined and try really hard.

You may reach a point when you think "Why bother, it's easier to stay the way I am." Yes it is but if you aren't happy with how things are, keep going. Don't stop trying to better yourself.

Did you try to change in the past but got nowhere and gave up?

**** Achieving your personal growth is not easy. You will have to challenge yourself to succeed. ****
**** It is important to let go of all negative thoughts that hold you back. Each time a negative thought comes to mind instantly get rid of it replace it with a positive one. ****

Are there are issues in your life you aren't happy with, if so try to let them go. They are a barrier to your personal growth.

It may be painful to let go of some of the things in your life that you no longer need.
Try to stay focused on what it is that you want in your personal growth development.

When you think you can't carry on try to visualize the final outcome.
Think about how great you will feel when you are the way you want.
When you are finally living the life you want.

Hold this vision and thought in front of you and recall it each time you begin to doubt yourself.
You should feel a 'happy release'
as you alter your thought pattern. Do you tell yourself "I am hopeless" "I am useless at that" "I'll never get it right", or words like "I wish I was thin" or "I am just too fat" Speaking like this will affect your confidence and could be the cause of bringing unhappiness in your life.

Why not become your own best friend? You will find things happen much easier when you like yourself.

To build confidence, a good way to begin is to start to like yourself, and the way to do this is through your self talk. Start to praise yourself today! Tell yourself how wonderful, confident, strong, capable, you are - plus anything else you want to become!

If there are things you want to do in your life and you don't seem to be getting anywhere it could be because you don't look on yourself as your best friend. It's important to like 'you'.

Know that you are a person of value. Work on how you see yourself. Realize that you have many talents and tell yourself how you want to be.

Is there is something in your life you want to do but don't feel confident about? Start to tell yourself that you are capable and that you can do it. Really believe this and keep your thoughts positive.

Try not to let any negative thoughts creep into your mind. I know this isn't always easy. Maybe you have spent years telling yourself that you can't do things.

If you really want to build confidence and do something, you have to tell yourself you can.

If your self talk is negative it will stop you achieving your dream. You have to believe that you are confident. Negative self talk will not win the day! Positive self talk will. If you believe you can, you will be capable of realizing your dream.

Wid Luv....~~ KOUSHIK ~~

Do you dream of changing your life?

Do you dream of changing your life?
***************************

Do you dream of changing your life?
If the answer is yes, you need the anything is possible attitude!

Those four words sound good don't they?

How can you change your life?
--> you need the desire to change.
--> you have to take responsibility for yourself and your actions, and, most important
--> you have to believe that anything is possible.

With a positive attitude you can be invincible!

Have you failed in the past? Do you know why?

Some things that happen are out of your control. How you react to them at the time either makes them a huge problem, that leads you to drop your plan, or, if you stay positive and decide not to let things get you down, you carry on and succeed.
Your attitude is vital in everything you do throughout your life. If you can stay determined and positive, the challenges you come up against will seem small as you deal with them.

When something happens you feel you have no control over, the way you react to it denotes the outcome.

If you allow yourself to react in a negative way and become angry and upset, you have caused a problem within yourself. You will find it much harder to solve your problem if you are upset.

However, if you can react in a positive way and decide that what has happened is not going to get you down, and you can stay calm and not react, you have no inner problem. Because you have stayed calm you will be able to deal more easily with what has happened.

A positive attitude will help keep your daily life peaceful as you learn to take control over circumstances that arise. You will find you can cope, and what might have annoyed the heck out of you in the past, no longer does.

Wow, wont that be good!

If you can keep that anything is possible attitude and realize that you do really have a choice to be the way you want, you will become a much stronger and positive person.

wid luv.....~~ KOUSHIK ~~ :)

How can you change your attitude?

How can you change your attitude?

When dealing with a situation try and find the good in it. Focus on the good; do not dwell on the negative. Depending on the situation, you sometimes have to look hard to find the good but it is there. By doing this you start changing attitudes to a positive attitude rather than a negative attitude.

- Remember the saying, "you can't change other people, you can only change yourself." So if someone tells you that you have a poor attitude, don't try and convenience them otherwise as you won't change their mind. When someone tells us this we have a tendency to take a defensive attitude, instead focus on how you can change.

Whenever you win in life, win as if you are used to it...

And

Whenever you lose in life, lose as if you enjoyed losing just for a change...

That's ATTITUDE!

Why do we read Geetha.....????????

Why do we read Geetha..... even if we can't understand a Sanskrit word ????

Story:
An old Farmer lived on a farm in the mountains with his young grandson. Each morning Grandpa was up early sitting at the kitchen table reading
his Bhagavath Geetha. His grandson wanted to be just like him and tried to imitate him in every way he could.

One day the grandson asked, "Grandpa! I try to read the Bhagavath Geetha just like you but I don't understand it, and what I do understand I
forget as soon as I close the book. What good does reading the Bhagavath Geetha do?"

The Grandfather quietly turned from putting coal in the stove and replied, "Take this coal basket down to the river and bring me back a basket of water."

The boy did as he was told, but all the water leaked out before he got back to the house. The grandfather laughed and said, "You'll have to move a little faster next time," and sent him back to the river with the basket to try again. This time the boy ran faster, but again the basket was empty before he returned home. Out of breath, he told his grandfather that it was impossible to carry water in a basket, and he went to get a bucket instead. The old man said, "I don't want a bucket of water; I want a basket of water. You're just not trying hard enough," and he went out the door to watch the boy try again.

At this point, the boy knew it was impossible, but he wanted to show his grandfather that even if he ran as fast as he could, the water would leak out before he got back to the house.

The boy again dipped the basket into river and ran hard, but when he reached his grandfather the basket was again empty. Out of breath, he said, "See Grandpa, it's useless!"

"So you think it is useless?" The old man said, "Look at the basket." The boy looked at the basket and for the first time realized that the basket was different. It had been transformed from a dirty old coal basket and was now clean, inside and out.

"Son, that's what happens when you read the Bhagavath Geeth

What is on the other side of Death..???

What is on the other side?
************************

A sick man turned to his doctor, as he was preparing to leave the
examination room and said, with tears in his eyes, "Doctor, I am afraid to
die, please tell me what is on the other side?"

Very quietly, the doctor said, "I don't know"

"You don't know?" said the sick man, "How come you don't know what is on the
other side?"

The doctor was holding the handle of the door. The sky was overcast with dark clouds. The gurgling sounds of thunder rented through the sky and streaks of lightning speared through the dense blanket of clouds.
School had just got over and the children were filing into the school bus. Harihar, an autistic child, used to walk home from school everyday. His mother was worried because of the storm, so she backed the car out of the garage and decided to go to fetch Harihar from school. She knew that a walk through lightning and thunder could be very scary for a child. By the time she reached the school, she realized that he had already left. So she followed his route, straining her eyes hard to locate him in the dense curtain of raindrops. She had to stop at a red light, and it was then that she spotted him walking a little further away on the sidewalk. But he was smiling! He was thoroughly drenched, but he looked very happy.

Slowly, she brought the car over to the boy, and asked him to get in. Then she asked, "Harihar, were you smiling or did I imagine it? I thought you would be scared." The little boy said, "Mama, you see God was clicking pictures of me, all the while!" Just then there was another flash of lightning and Harihar smiled innocently as if in compliance with the flash of God's camera. Mother looked up nervously at the angry clouds and bundled her son into the car.

The story does not end here. On the other side of the road was another boy, who was running for cover from the angry downpour. Harihar saw him and said, "Mama, can we give Abhinav, a lift home?" "Sure" said mother. Having seated Abhinav into the car, Mother said, "Abhinav your lips are quite blue, I think you are scared of lightning. Don't worry; we'll drop you home soon." Abhinav said, "God was flashing light all around to look for me. I think He knows that I stole the pencil box. He flashed His torchlight again and again to search for me."

Whatever we are inside; is the way the world around us see

SEE THE OPORTUNITIES..!!!

See the opportunities that are always around us to do good.
Am I A Blessing?

Come with me to a third grade classroom....

There is a nine-year-old kid sitting at his desk and all of a sudden, there is a puddle between his feet and the front of his pants are wet.

He thinks his heart is going to stop because he cannot possibly imagine how this has happened. It's never happened before, and he knows that when the boys find out he will never hear the end of it. When the girls find out, they'll never speak to him again as long as he lives.

The boy believes his heart is going to stop, he puts his head down and prays this prayer, "Dear God, this is an emergency! I need help now! Five minutes from now I'm dead meat."

He looks up from his prayer and here comes the teacher with a look in her eyes that says he has been discovered. As the teacher is walking toward him, a classmate named Susie is carrying a goldfish bowl that is filled with water. Susie trips in front of the teacher and inexplicably dumps the bowl of water in the boy's lap.

The boy pretends to be angry, but all the while is saying to himself, "Thank you, Lord! Thank you, Lord!"

Now all of a sudden, instead of being the object of ridicule, the boy is the object of sympathy. The teacher rushes him downstairs and gives him gym shorts to put on while his pants dry out.

All the other children are on their hands and knees cleaning up around his desk. The sympathy is wonderful. But as life would have it, the ridicule that should have been his has been transferred to someone else - Susie. She tries to help, but they tell her to get out. "You've done enough, you klutz!"

Finally, at the end of the day, as they are waiting for the bus, the boy walks over to Susie and whispers, "You did that on purpose, didn't you?"

Susie whispers back, "I wet my pants once too."

*****************************
May God help us see the opportunities that are always around us to do good.
May our weaknesses help us to understand the weaknesses of other

<table cellpadding="4" cellspacing="1" style="border-color:#000000;border-width:1px;border-style:solid;height:12px;width:100px;font-size: 9px;
